She had called saddened by the state of her love life and she had called me because of the experience I have in relationships gone bad. At the end she thanked me for going through all the pain I had so that I could effectively understand her feelings. Hmm, while I was happy to support a friend, the idea of crashing my love life to be a better listener and coach probably would never have been my first choice. I suspect Brandon will feel the same way in 10 years when the pain in his life, through a variety of unplanned circumstance, will have gone a long ways to changing many lives for the better.

My friend, Dave Cooke, with a heart for humanity and more for his son set out to pedal a mile in his son’s moccasins as a means to understand the difficulities involved in overcoming the sons afflictions.
